HKM litigators Pete Wanning and Brandon Glanz recently obtained summary judgment for a railroad braking system manufacturer client in a wrongful death asbestos matter in Ramsey County, Minnesota.  The case involved a career field representative and draftsman for the railroad industry who alleged to have developed mesothelioma after working with and around a variety of asbestos-containing materials and equipment.

HKM trial attorney Casey Suszynski recently obtained a favorable Wisconsin Court of Appeals decision on behalf of the firm's client, a major insurer. The circuit court initially granted HKM's motion for summary judgment in the case, finding HKM's client did not have a duty to defend or indemnify an insured under a commercial general liability policy, and the Wisconsin Court of Appeals affirmed the summary judgment decision.

HKM trial attorney and shareholder William L. Moran recently secured summary judgment for HKM’s client, a Defendant/Third Party Plaintiff, in a product liability case in the United States District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania.

HKM trial attorney and shareholder William L. Moran recently secured a favorable decision on behalf of his client, a large nationwide insurance company (Respondent), at the Minnesota Supreme Court. In a case of first impression, the question presented on appeal was whether under the plain language of Minn. Stat. § 604.18, subd. 3 (2016), “proceeds awarded” to an insured are capped by an insurance policy’s limit.
